In a times of great uncertainty, speculation surrounds us. We hear “falling sky” scenarios of no concerts or rehearsals for the next two years. We have overly optimistic people planning for a normal Fall season. We have friends and family with widely differing amounts of risk tolerance.

With all the incertitude, it’s nice to be able to grab on to a few solid things. Here is one thing you can bank on: in order to get through this as a community, we will need generosity of spirit.

I can think of no greater example of this than David Von Kampen seeing the need for more solos and duets for church use, and responding to that need by providing ten new solos and duets FOR FREE(!!!) on his website. That’s right. Free music in a difficult time. It’s an amazingly kind gesture, and I hope you will take the time to check it out and let him know if you perform the music.

You can download the scores here.

Check out more of David’s work on MusicSpoke.
